RUF Blog, Week 5 & 6, Term 4, 2025

A gentle reminder: All students need to bring a hat to wear during recess and lunch so they can play safely outdoors.

This week, our RUF students have continued to grow in confidence across all areas of learning.

In Religion, we learned how churches use different colours to show special times in Jesus’s life, including the season of Advent.

In English, they are becoming increasingly confident in reading and writing simple sentences. We have been learning new diagraphs, and the children are showing great skill in identifying them in words. They are also learning about verbs and how to use them when writing their own personal recounts.

In Mathematics, we have been exploring sequences, including the order of events and daily activities both at home and at school. Students are confidently naming the days of the week and identifying the special activities that happen on each day.

In Science, we continued our weather journals and explored different types of weather.

In HASS, we discussed how we can share stories about places that are important to us.

In The Arts, we watched The Gingerbread Man, talked about the characters’ feelings, and enjoyed acting out different parts of the story.

It has been a wonderful week of learning, and we are so proud of the students’ enthusiasm and progress!
