Welcome to week 4 everyone and here is our class calendar. The Holy Family Newsletter link is also provided below.
Here is a snapshot of the HFCS Newsletter:

English | Phonics
This week, the letter sounds for the children to learn and practise are letters i and n. The following videos will assist you and your child at home consolidate some of our learning at school.
The children enjoyed making an insect and a necklace once they had finished practising their letters i and n in their handwriting books.
Technology
Throughout this term so far, students have been developing their fine motor skills by practicing their scissor skills. This week they had fun creating crazy haired monsters.
Science
Have a look at how our bread experiment with the germs has progressed. It was a great visual for the children to see the importance of washing hands.

Maths
This week the children have continued to sort objects of all kinds, including some shape and animal sorting in their books.
Religion
“Do to others” a regular song heard at HFCS during masses, liturgies and prayer services. We delved into what the lyrics of the song meant, which lead us to the golden rule of ‘treat others how you want to be treated’. Students engaged in mindful colouring of a heart to remind themselves and each other to look after each other’s hearts before we speak and act.

Play Investigations
Play investigations are a great opportunity for students to engage in activities of interest and to explore their curiosities. It is a time where students display, demonstrate and develop a range of skills, these can include social skills, leadership, problem solving, communication and creativity to name a few.
Buddy Time
Today we met our big buddies in 5/6 JC & EB. The children introduced themselves and shared their readers and library6 books. RMP visited Mrs Blackley’s class and they were all very brave.
Book making
The children have begun making their own books and are already showing the signs of becoming wonderful authors!
