Week 6- Term 1

We have had a great week of learning in RPN and RMR.

Highlights from the week:

Reading Achievements- Congratulations to the following students for achieving 25 nights of reading. Well done!

-Ceara

-Rubi

-Hudson

-Sofia

-Soliana

-Eva

-Annika

-Emily

Word Study- This week we focused on the letters “Gg” and “Oo”. The students practised writing these letters and came up with lists of words beginning with the letter sounds. They then used many fine motor skills to create a goldfish for the letter g and an octopus for the letter o.

Book Making- This week, during book making sessions, the students have been focusing on adding details to the pictures that they have been drawing in their books. It may be something, like adding more colour to their drawings, or more little detailed pictures in their scenes that they have created.

Reading- Each morning this week, we spent time reading in the classroom. It was wonderful to see the students reading by themselves or with a friend.

Mathematics- This week we have been exploring patterns with the students. Students used different materials in the classroom to create their own patterns.

Technologies- Since the start of the term, we have been practising cutting skills, gluing skills, folding skills and twisting skills, using paper and pipe cleaners. The students created their own picture on a piece of card using the techniques that we have been exploring.

Have a great long weekend and we will see you on Tuesday.
