What a joyous week of learning in RPN and RMR.
Some highlights from the week:
Word Study- This week we focussed on the letters of ‘Ii’ and ‘Nn’. We practised writing the letters as we said the sounds and we also wrote words beginning with the letters. For the letter i, the students then created their own insect on a leaf and for the letter n, the students created their own necklace out of beads.

Book making- This week for book making, we have spoken about, ‘How I know when I have finished my book’. The things the students have to ask themselves is:
-Is my name on the front cover? (because I am the author)
-Do I have words in my book?
-Do I have pictures in my book?
-Are the pictures coloured in?
-Have I used every page?
-Have I read my book to a beanie boo?
Mathematics- This week we have been sorting objects into groups. We talked about sorting objects by colour, size and type. The students then sorted themselves into different groups. The students then explored the equipment in the classroom and had a go at sorting the objects into groups with a like feature.
Science-Â This week, we headed up to the MUDLA to do our science learning. We spoke about the four different things that animals need to survive; water, food, shelter and air. The students then chose an animal to draw. They then had to draw the four different things that animal needs in order to live. Some students had a try at labeling their picture.
Technologies- For technologies this week, we focused on cutting skills, gluing skills and folding skills. The students created their own paper spring. They then made an object to attach to their spring, which they then attached to a piece of card. Here is what the students created:
