Learning Update – Week 7

Hello RTH and RLY families,

We hope you all enjoyed week seven!

Literacy:

We have continued to reflect on our learnings over the term, this included our letters, our sounds, sentence structures, heart words and ability to blend our words. We worked together on reflecting, writing and spelling different sounds and letters to bring all of our learning together.

We also continued with our book making with a focus on ‘Ways to Add Words to out Books’. As a class we reflected on all the ways we can add words into our books from last week and added other ideas such as onomatopoeia, being brave spellers and so forth.

Mathematics:

This week we wrapped up our focus on data and worked on reflecting what ‘most’, ‘least’ and ‘average’ means. Along with this we created graphs as a class and independently to solidfy our understandings of data.

Health:

This week we reflected on people who are safe to us and worked on understanding the meaning of trust. To do this we created a trust network with our most trusted people involved.

HaSS:

This week we continued with celebrations but had a focus on things we celebrate and reflected on what we do, why it is important and why we celebrate specific celebrations.

Science:

This week in science we moved on to the movement of bouncing and investigated different things that bounce.

Religion:

This week we reflected on the Catholic religion and looked at other religions again, discussing what religion may consist of, how religions vary and sacred symbols within different religions.

REMINDER:

Try At Home Books

We have our ‘try at home books’, with last week’s letters and words to focus on through the next week. These books are just for casual reading with your children if you have the time and they want to, however don’t feel like you need to, we do so much in class! It’s just an opportunity for your children to share their learning with you. You don’t need to add anything to/write in these books!

Shorter Week:

Unfortunately, due to the public holiday, pupil free day and Ms. Tiana having a day off, there are not as many photos this week! This will not be the case going forwards but is due to this week’s circumstances.

We look forward to week 8!

Ms. Tiana & Ms. Yeend
