Holy Family Christmas Carols

Good afternoon families,

This Friday 9th December at 5:30pm is our annual Holy Family Christmas Carols. Children in 1SD and 1NP will be performing ‘Joy to the World’ and ‘Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’ for their performance.

We have been practicing our songs for the past two weeks, however, children are also encouraged to practice their singing at home. Please see below the links to the correct versions of the songs we are singing:

Below is some important information regarding the night.

Traditional Australian Indigenous Art

Over the past few weeks we have investigated Indigenous skeleton art and the cultural significance of dot painting. Students enjoyed using coloured chalk, paint and q-tips to create their own unique designs of a fish skeleton and a dot painted turtle.

Please see some of our amazing artworks below:

Rice Art

This term we are focusing on Traditional Aboriginal Art. We are learning about the different styles and techniques used by First Nations Peoples and applying it to our work.

Last week, we focused on Sand Art. Students worked in small groups to draw personal symbols of significance in coloured rice. Please see some photos of our work below.

The count down to the Spring Fair begins!

This Sunday, 23 October 2022, is our beloved spring Fair. This is the 20th consecutive Spring Fair subsuming our 40th Birthday as a school, which was established in 1981.

The purpose of the Spring Fair is more than a fundraiser, it is a celebration of our culture of an inclusive school of excellence, engagement and enjoyment. Further, the Spring Fair demonstrates to our children that our community can achieve anything it puts its mind to: Our children are capable and talented!

When you come to the Fair you will see parents, staff and leaders working side by side. You will see the diversity and talent of our people in action.

If you can spare an hour to help set up, come to the school on Saturday morning at 9:30am. Bring the kids! Free BQQ at 11:00am.

If you help on Sunday simply turn up to a stall at any time between 11am and 8pm and offer to help. You will love being involved in your child’s school!

See you then!

The assembly will be filmed on Friday morning if you are unable to attend.  We will send out the link to the assembly via email once it is ready.

We look forward to seeing those who can make it on Friday and we cannot wait to watch our students shine on stage!
