Mission week- Mission Week was a wonderful celebration of compassion, service, and community spirit. Thank you to all the families for your generous contributions and support throughout the week. We began on Monday with an Opening Ceremony in the Hall, where guest speakers from Fred’s Van, Catherine House and Catholic Charities shared their inspiring work. On Wednesday, we came together for a special Mass, beautifully celebrated by Fr. Sam. A true highlight of the week was the opportunity to visit and venerate the Blessed Carlo Acutis relic. Blessed Carlo, known for using technology to spread the word of God and supporting those in need, is a powerful example for young people today. The experience of seeing the relic up close gave students a deeper sense of connection to their faith and was a moment of awe and reflection. Friday was a highlight, with students bringing in donated cans to create a sculpture—and we’re proud to share that our class won Most Creative Can Sculpture! All sculptures were viewed and admired by students before the cans were donated to Fred’s Van to help feed those in need. Later that day, the children enjoyed our Mission Day stalls, where they could purchase treats or participate in fun games and challenges. Our class proudly sold 110 cups of jelly! The day ended with a Closing Assembly where the winners were announced, and it was shared that we raised approximately $2800—meaning just under $1000 will be donated to each of our three supported charities: Catherine House, Catholic Charities, and St Vincent de Paul. Thank you again to every family who donated cans, purchased tokens or contributed to support this special week. Scroll down to see photos of the can sculptures and Mission Day stall fun which is a wonderful reminder of what we can achieve together when we lead with love and purpose.

ART- In Art, students have been learning how to use geometric and organic shapes to create pictures of different settings. After reviewing the types of shapes, students chose a theme—such as a city, zoo, space, underwater scene, or forest—and used coloured paper to cut and arrange shapes that represent different parts of their chosen setting. They then added drawn details to complete their scenes and explained which shapes they used in their artwork. It’s been a joy to watch their creativity and confidence grow as they experimented with shape, colour, and design. Attached below are photos of their incredible artwork—enjoy seeing what they’ve created!
