Hi Families,
Welcome to another week!
Forgive me for the late post, we have been super busy preparing for our Assembly, which is this coming Friday! (Friday, 24th Feb) You are all invited by the way! The Assembly will begin at 9am in the Hall. Please come!
This week was another busy week full of learning. We spent much of our time preparing for our Assembly. We talked a lot about Lent, we made a chocolate coconut slice for the teachers and delivered it to them, we continued to write our own prayers, we wrote positive affirmations for the teachers, we discussed what we would sacrifice for Lent, and we practiced our singing. Of course we made time for all of our other lessons too. It really was a very busy week.
Our Spider Plants are growing well, they are drinking the water in the glasses, which means we have to check them and refill them. They have also started to grow roots. We recorded our observations throughout the week.
We welcomed a new student to our team, his name is Esrom and he officially starts on Monday,
It was also Aria’s birthday on Friday, which we celebrated by singing to her and making her feel special whenever we could.
The children were very excited to see that our Monstera Plant has started opening up two new leaves. We watched the leaf unfold little by little, as each day passed. Another one of our plants, (I can’t think of its name at the moment) has four new leaves, tightly rolled up and ready to unfold over the next week or so.
Anna D brought in some propagated plants from her grandma’s garden, two are succulents and the other one is a Poison Ivy, they look so sweet on display in our classroom.
Lisa Burman came in to our room on Monday and taught us a Word Study lesson. She is a Literacy expert and we were very lucky to experience this, she taught us about base words, prefixes and suffixes.
Have a look at a few photos from this week. I will not post too many, as I do not want to spoil our Assembly too much.
