Festival Choir!

csmf

A huge congratulations to our Festival Choir who attended a combined schools rehearsal at Loreto College yesterday. The students were able to sing through this years repertoire without their books AND they knew all of their choreography from memory!

The choir are doing such a great job and are very excited for their big night in week 10! They are well on their way to perfecting their songs and to help them prepare they will be singing one of their favourite songs at the Music Assembly on Tuesday of week 8. (Details are in the post below).

Keep up the brilliant work – it is all starting to come together!

Catholic Schools Music Festival

The Catholic Schools Music Festival is a wonderful celebration of music, taking place in Term 3 Week 10, September 21 – 24 at 7.30pm, Adelaide Festival Theatre. The Holy Family Festival Choir will be participating in the festival on Tuesday evening the 22nd of September.

2015 will mark the 27th Catholic Schools Music Festival with a theme dedicated to the music from the 1910’s, 20’s, 30’s & 40’s. The theme recognises one hundred years since the Gallipoli landings and 70 years since WWII ended. Over 2000 students from Catholic schools will perform over the four evenings of the music festival.

The song selection is inspired by the music that lifted people’s spirits during the world wars and interwar period. While preparing for these songs the students have come to appreciate what life may have been like for their grandparents and ancestors during this era.

Tickets will go on sale to the public through BASS on Monday 7th September 2015 and will cost $33.85 for an adult and $24.65 for concession.

MUSIC ASSEMBLY 2015

This term we are planning a Music assembly to promote our wonderful instrumental program at Holy Family Catholic School! This assembly will be held on Tuesday the 8th of September (week 8) at 9:00am in the Pope John Paul II Hall.

For children who do not perform at this assembly, they will have an opportunity to do so in a smaller environment in either term 3 or 4 as specified by your child’s instrumental teacher. You are most welcome to come along to these performances.
