Visit RNZ The Best of Storytime – develop your child’s listening skills and imagination by listening to a story read aloud. A range of engaging stories, which are only a few minutes in length – just right for 5-7 year olds.

Visit The World of David Walliams website for a story a day from this prodigious and well loved children’s author. Every day during the Covid-19 crisis, David is uploading a story for children on his official website.

Wilding Books has put together a free online version of Aroha’s Way (A children’s guide through emotions). Wilding Books said: ‘Aroha’s Way is a bestselling picture book for children around emotions associated with anxiety. We wanted to do something for the children of the world right now with the fear and anxiety around Covid-19 and many people living in isolation.’

Audible Books have made their vast online collection of children’s books available free during the Covid-19 pandemic. Take advantage of this opportunity and snuggle up with your child for  a special story time.

Kids Math Games Online also has lots of numeracy learning.

NatGeoKids (Australia) is a fantastic resource for young scientists interested in life on earth. The site currently features a child-friendly resource about Covid-19.

San Diego Zoo is a great place to visit online. Any children who love learning about animals will enjoy a ‘day out’ here.

Club SciKidz is offering a science investigation or cooking provocation a day on its website.
