The children have been preparing for Holy Week and Easter.  Today the children listened to how Jesus shared his last meal with his closest friends, the disciples. The children sequenced four main parts of the story into the correct order in preparation for our class to role play the story and present it to the whole school.

Health

This week we discussed trusted support networks, which is a group of people who they trust and can talk with if they have a problem. They are people who will listen to them, believe in them and will do something. It is also a group of people who they like to share good times with. Students thought about people who they could talk with when they get early warning signs.

Sport lesson with Mrs Cooymans

Each week the children participate in a specialist PE lesson with Mrs Cooymans. Today RMP were having a ball in the Hall.  Here a just a few photos from the end of the lesson.

Handwriting

It is wonderful to see the children gaining a multitude of skills in this area. All of the children have gained better pencil grip (tripod grip), control of pencil and are forming letters with more accuracy. The lesson also gets the children thinking about words and objects that begin with the focus letter or as James said “The letter u is in the middle of the word sun.”

The children made a lady bug after learning the letter l sound.

Maths Mini

The children continue to learn their number formation and connecting numerals to amounts. The children in this group were adding two numbers and recording using the = sign.

The students have been exploring ten frames over the past couple of weeks. Today the children counted how many squares were coloured and how many were not!

The children used the laptops on Tuesday to build their counting skills and use the track pad to navigate the number game.

Technologies

The children used their cutting and folding skills this week to create a paper bag puppet and finger puppets, They had lots of fun in being creative.

Religion

Mrs Norris read the story about Palm Sunday. The time when Jesus rode a donkey into the city of Jerusalem and was welcomed as the King.

If I met a King I would…

Aidan:I would feel happy.

Yom: I would say good afternoon.

Imogen: I would be excited if I met a King!

The students reflected on the story and the reason why people waved Palm leaves, and laid cloaks along the road for Jesus, shouting words such as Hosanna! and Blessed is the King. The students then drew their representation of Palm Sunday.

Book Making

Lovenne made a book called All About My House.
