Welcome to a brand new term and a new week. We are very excited and eager to start all the wonderful learning with the children.
We encourage you to keep reading with your child at home as the children move into a new phase of learning the term.

English and Phonics
This week the children are learning and writing the letter sound w.
The children are also learning about sentences and using their letter sound knowledge to help them spell CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words. The children tried their skills at spelling cat and dog with a little nudge from the teacher.
Shared Reading
Here are a selection of books we have shared with the children this week. You may have them at home or you can watch the stories below.
The Wonky Donkey went nicely with our letter w sound today!
Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus had the children thinking about how they can add words to their books in their Book Making lessons. We discussed speech bubbles and big and bold writing.
Meg’s Car highlighted the use of speech bubbles and big and bold writing.
