Health and my family

The children were asked to draw their family members enjoying time together.

Food Technology

Today the students explored where food comes from. For example , from, the farm, tree, animals or simply from our own gardens. Some students also noted and illustrated some ingredients that are used to make other foods. Have a look.

Religion

We revisited the creation story from Genesis. We discussed, reflected and shared how we can care for the environment/creation that God has given us.

Maths and measuring 

The children measured a partner today and remembered the rules for measuring.

Congratulations to the students for reaching their reading milestones. Keep it up!

Today the children were asked to compare and order varying lengths of paper from longest to shortest.

 

Health 

This week the students explored the concept of personal space. We used a hoop as a visual to help students understand the concept and the importance of respecting each other’s personal space and what to do when someone is in your personal space.

Today the children re-visited the letter sound p by searching for words that begin with p, writing the letter p, singing a letter p song and writing sentences with some letter p words and words that are frequently used and written at this age.

The children shared their books this morning.

The children drew a picture of themselves and labelled the body parts.

Maths

One Is a Snail, Ten Is a Crab Investigation.

This week the children explored the book and used problem solving and addition strategies to add feet.

Mrs Martin read the story to the children and we discussed how lovely the illustrations were made in the book.  The children used the inspiration to draw a border around a poem about Kaurna land.
