Shared Reading

The Pamela Allen story we shared this morning resonated with a few of our children who agreed that losing after babies is a very busy time for parents.

 We went to they Mudla with our big buddies and Mr McCarthy showed us the amazing world of microscopic living things.

Aarav, Alice and Zachary published their books with Mrs Papillo today.

Maths

Today the children traced their foot and measured the perimeter using cubes cubes.

Our Mudla visit

The children were excited to visit the animals and discovered a new baby in the Mudla today! Then we had a quick writing / spelling activity before we headed back to our classroom.

Wednesday (Term 3 | Week 6)

Shared Reading

We shared another Pamela Allen book today that included some very interesting weather conditions.

Zara and Tyler published their books today by reading them to Mrs Papillo.

Maths

We only had time for a short lesson today due to our class photo time.  The children played a fishing game and ordered their fish according to length and then width (thin/fat/wide).

Library

Today we read Aaron Blabey’s ninth Pig the Pug book.  What a naughty little puppy he is on Halloween eve.

Over the next few weeks our author study will focused on Pamela Allen, a wonderful author of many wonderful books.

This morning the students revised the letter Cc and they also remembered that it has the same sound as the letter Kk.

The children compared and ordered their group from shortest to tallest.

English – phonics and sentences

The children revised the letter Oo this morning.

Buddy Time with 5/6EH

The children explored pixel art with their big buddy today in preparation for our upcoming assembly.

Sport

The children continued with gymnastics in their lesson with Mr Pearce this afternoon.

Religion

The children listened to and viewed the story Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand this afternoon.  Their refections on the story centred on Jesus’ ability to share what you have when others are in need and be kind to one another.  Miracles can happen!

 

Monday (Term 3 | Week 5)

Welcome to Monday and here is our learning for the day:

English

Our letter sound for the day is Gg. 

The students were encouraged to choose a word with the letter g in it and tell a sentence to their friend before writing it in their books.

The children drew pictures with g objects in it and then asked a classmate to identify as many of them as possible.

Maths

The lesson today continued from Friday with the children placing their Gingerbread men or crocodiles in order of size (length or height.)

Friday (Term 3 | Week 4)

Here is a snapshot of our learning today.

Keeping Safe 

This morning the class talked about and demonstrated the concept of personal space. The children used hula hoops and played games to reinforce this idea.

Maths and measuring

The children measured each other this morning.  There were some rules that the children cam up with:

Zara: measure from the toes to the top of the head and don’t go over.

Tyler: Don’t have any gaps.

Maths Mini

The children played a matching game of numbers and pictures.

Play Investigations

The sun was shining and the hoops were used outside this afternoon whilst some of the children played.
