Welcome to wonderfully windy Wednesday! The gloomy day hasn’t stopped our students shining bright in class today.
This morning our whole body listening was on display. Group time for shared reading, organisation and setting learning intentions is an important time each day where students have been practicing their whole body listening. As well as keeping our hands and our feet to ourselves students have been displaying fantastic ‘active’ listening skills
Active listening means giving a speaker your undivided attention, listening to them carefully, reflecting on what was said and responding in a way that shows your understanding.
Our day began with Literacy Investigations where students explored the letters of the alphabet in various ways. Our three activities were as followed…

We also had very special visitors from Thomas More College who came to perform to our whole school this morning. Drummers, guitarists, and singers were all on stage performing for us and we clapped along and enjoyed the music!
After recess our classes participated in Drama and Science. For Science we continued our investigation into living things and began to talk about HABITATS. Here’s a fun little quiz to see if you know which environments animals belong in.
The students then sorted animals; identifying whether their habitat is on land or in water.
During our Drama lesson the students had a go at acting out a song; creating their very own performance in class. The song was called ‘There Was a Princess Long Ago’. Here we are performing. What great actors and actresses!
Lots of fun and learning today in RSA and RKS. Enjoy the rest of your week.
