Last Thursday

Today in RSA and RKS we had a busy day getting the class ready for the end of the year. To begin the day, we started with eating our brain food before our buddies came over to help make Christmas cards.

After recess, we had religion where we finished off the Christmas story.

After lunch, we had mindfulness and then we had indoor/outdoor play.

This will be my last post for this semester and what a semester we have had. I’ve enjoyed watching all the students learn and grow in the short period I have been with them. My favourite part of this year was when we celebrated the class doing green choices with a green party. It was amazing to see how much the students enjoyed creating things and building things with green items.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, hope all the best for each student’s new class and I hope to see everyone’s happy faces out in the yard in the new year.

Hi everyone and welcome to a fantastic sunny day in RKS and RSA. In the morning session students explored some Christmas activates where the students created Christmas trees with paper and pinecones.

After recess, the students investigated the letter ‘y’. Students looked at how to correctly write the letter ‘y’ and what are some of the words that begin with the letter ‘y’. Then in their books they tried to practice this letter and drawing things that start with ‘y’.

Students came back exhausted from lunch and needed a nice break in mindfulness. Once the students were rested, they had the opportunity to continue creating imaginative stories and houses with the furniture or explore the playground.

Just a reminder that it is Carols night tomorrow night. We are scheduled to be on the stage at 5:35 so if we could get everyone to meet at Curiosity (library) by 5:25 to get ready that would be great. If all the students could be wearing something Christmassy when they return for the carols that would be amazing. If that is a red shirt or a green shirt that is fine.

Once we have finished our two songs could you please collect your child from Curiosity where you can either stay to watch the rest of the show or go home.

Students had a wonderful day exploring new things and I hope to see everyone tomorrow for carols night,

Mr S

Tuesday 22/11/22 (week 6)

Hello everyone and welcome to another day in RSA and RKS. We started the day with writer’s workshop where the students continued creating books based off the reading from yesterday. Students were brave spellers focusing on writing different colours and animals. They also designed their books with a flap that was hiding some of their animal and colour drawings.

Next, we investigated the MUDLA looking at the features of the animals. The students spotted one of the lizards shedding their skin in their enclosure.

After recess, we looked at creating AB, ABC and ABCD patterns with the colours before slowly being introduced to the idea that we can make a pattern with shapes.

After lunch, we had play-based investigations where students focused on designing and creating through imaginative play.

It was a busy day today and I hope everyone gets a good night’s rest,
