Writer’s Notebook

Our mini lesson in Writer’s Notebook today was how to create a sizzling start to our narrative stories. We all revised our own writing and made changes to the start of our stories. We can engage our audience by using humour, starting with a bang, making the reader curious or incorporating dialogue. Have a read of some of our sizzling startsĀ

Ruby – “Hey, my names Selena”

Annalise – “Bashed, the chair fell down”

Nikka – “Oh my goodness I did it.”

Jake – “Thump, the thunder roared as I watched TV.”

Aidan – “Arghhhhh….yelled Andrew from his nap.”

Holly – “Beep Beep went my alarm at 6:30am.”
