Today in investigations I had to choose a recipe from the two of my friends because the teacher told me and my friends to choose a recipe and I didn’t want to do my recipe and one of my friends didn’t finish theirs so I chose a recipe which was a frozen fruit Popsicle. Next week we are going to try and make the recipe we chose.

After when I chose the recipe I had to Writer’s Notebook My book title was “Stuck in the world of technology” My book was half finished so I had to continue to write it.

1. What calendar do Chinese people follow?

   The Chinese people don’t follow normal calendars that Australia uses the Chinese people follows the Lunar Calendar which follows the phases of the moon.  The Lunar Calendar doesn’t follow the days, months and years as the normal calendar does also The Lunar New Year is held on the second full moon in winter. The date is also the start of the spring harvest.

Some ways the Chinese/Vietnamese people celebrate are to hang red lanterns bang drums and light fireworks it is believed that an ancient beast named Nian, every year at the end of winter Nian would emerge from the mountains  and terrorize people until one day a man came up with an idea to scare away the Nian. The plan was to hang up red lanterns and bang drums and light fireworks and the plan worked.

What helps me learn how to read: What helps me learn how to read is when I am spelling the words out if I am stuck on a word but if the word is to tricky and I can’t spell it out I ask a adult to help me to read it or if I search online what it is I will know how to sound that word out. What also helps me learn how to read is when I learn facts about the book or I can take some words so that I can write a book.

What helps me learn: What helps me learn is when I am somewhere where someone can help me learn how to fix my grammar or someone who helps me to be smarter. What  also helps me learn is adults because they can correct you from something that is wrong.

What helps me write: What helps me write is when I am practicing how to write words neatly also when I am writing slowing or if I am writing a information report or I am writing a story on paper.

What I did last year and that I’m proud of is that in term 1 I was focusing on my work and I finished it. What I am also proud of is that I helped people spell some words  that they didn’t know how to spell. I was also proud last year when I had tried my hardest to try and do hard math it was challenging for me but I had made it and I had tried my best I also was proud when some times my friends have fights I try to cheer them up so that what I am proud of.

My goals for this term are to get better at finishing my work because  I get distracted easily and sometimes I can’t concentrate on my work. The second thing I want to get better at is grammar because I want to get better at spelling better at spelling when people ask me to spell something I will spell it for them. I also want to speak out loud so when people bully me I can just stand up for myself or my friends to stop them from bullying us, if the person who bullies us every day then I will just tell the teacher. The third goal is to basically have fun at school because I love school because our brains can be smarter.

I found China. China is beneath Mongolia and is near Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand. China is one of the countries in Asia. China is in the northern parts.

In investigation time I did writer’s workshop, I made a book based on technology but it’s not an information book it’s a fiction book here are some pictures of my book. Next week I will try to do some more writing on the book because I only did some drawings and I did some writing but it wasn’t very much so I will try to do more writing.

Today after recess we shared our all about me bag with some things that represent you. We had to go into groups and take turns to talk about our objects we bought into class. When my friend Emily finished her talk I had to go next I was pretty confident about it, here are the things that I bought into class.
