Thursday (Term 4 | Week 3)

Welcome to Thursday everyone; we hope your day is enjoyable. 

Sport
Today Mrs Cooymans and the children played a modified game of softball.  There were two teams and what wonderful teamwork the children displayed when ‘fielding’ the game.


Come Read With Me
Today the children in R1 MP listened to Mrs Papillo read a book called Roadworks.  Many children were already mini experts on this topic and shared their knowledge with the class.  Then the children joined a partner and read their books from the library.

R1JH students shared the story Winnie the Witch, written by Valerie Thomas and illustrated by Korky Paul. Poor Wilbur, Winnie’s black cat, gets changed into a rainbow coloured cat … will he ever be back to black?

Students who wished to do so had the option of making a black cat like Wilbur or doing paired reading. Here are some of the finished ones:

The students continued to transfer their data to a picture graph today.

History: Toys Now and in the Past

This afternoon the children explored TOYS.  We started by listening to a story about toys and discussing if the toy characters in the story were old fashioned toys or modern day toys.
