Wednesday (Term 4 | Week 4)

Welcome to Wednesday …

Donut Day

The children enjoyed their donuts this morning but they were so big they could not be eaten all at once!!

Shared Reading

Today we continued to read lift the flap books.  Mrs Papillo read two books from her home library.  Both books were once read and shared with her children when they were very little.

Writer’s Workshop

Today the children continued to work on their books.

Numeracy

Today the children continued their Data learning; this included looking at data and placing it on a graph.  Firstly, we looked at the bar graph made from the data we collected yesterday about our favourite seasons of the year.  Then the children looked at Australian animal information or fruit and placed it on a graph.

Hartley: Summer was the favourite season because it has 14 squares.

Sam : Autumn and Spring are the same.

Play Investigations

Building, playing, discussing, problem solving, making, operating, discovering….

Religion

Today the children continued to learn about the message behind Matthew’s  Gospel story of The Lost Sheep.  The children reflected and came up with some wonderful ideas about what Jesus wants us to learn form this story.

Mrs Papillo explained to the class that the teachers are like the shepherd in the story; we never give up on our students!

Don’t forget…

The children were awarded their Premier’s Reading Challenge certificates (reception) or medals (year 1) this afternoon.  Please take a look in their library bags for their award.
