Welcome to Week 5! We began the day with ’Come Read With Me’ and then the students had a go at using descriptive language to Spot the Difference. This short task in the morning tunes us in to using our whole body listening, concentration and oral language. Then it was time for investigations, our resident photographer Everleigh helped take the photos today.

After investigation we had a quick play on the playground to get all that energy out!

Then it was inside for sharing. Judi, Sadie and Grace talked with us about their creations that they made during investigations today. After recess we had a recap of all the letters we had learnt so far. The children have learnt
s a t p i n
We then realised that we can make words from these 6 sounds! Together we made the words
sat
pat
pin
tin
tap
We strecthed out the words together so that we could hear the initial, middle and end sound. We then worked specifically on hearing the initial sounds in words and were able to sort the following pictures under the right sound! Great job team!

During Writer’s Workshop many students decided that they would make their very own sound books!
A rainy afternoon meant that lunch play was inside. Many of the students are working hard on making green choices in class. A discussion at home about what ‘red choices’ and ‘green choices’ are, may be helpful for those still finding it tricky to remember!
Here is today’s reminder 🙂

Looking forward to more fun and learning tomorrow!
Mrs Sharman 🙂
Lovely learning. I can hear her trying to spell and sound words.
And the energy from the day! Tired but so excited!
