Tuesday (Term 1 | Week 3)

WELCOME AND HAPPY TUESDAY, EVERYONE!

Here’s today’s learning:

READING WORKSHOP
Today, given the main character in our class novel is a baby barn owl, we watched a short information video about this species of owl. After this we read an information text about barn owls and answered questions about the text. Some of us did this independently, whilst others worked in a small group with their teacher. Our focus was on literal comprehension – locating and retrieving information from the text to answer questions. A few of us completed an alternative activity, creating a diagram by labelling the parts of a barn owl.

FITNESS

Cricket, building a Rapunzel sandcastle and playing dodgeball were our fitness focuses today:

CLASS NOVEL
We shared Chapter 4 of our class novel, in which Plop discovers that Dark is Necessary

SCIENCE
After watching a short video about living things in class, and recording some examples of how all living things: need energy; grow and change; reproduce, and respond to the world around them, we headed over to the MUDLA to see some of our school reptiles, mammals and fish, and to apply our  new learning.
