The Nativity

The Nativity

This morning we read the story of The Nativity for our Shared Text. We then followed by re-telling the story during bookmaking.

After recess, we revisited the story by looking at a different kind of book on the screen. We then re-told the story or a part of the story with 100 languages. The children were encouraged to engage in different art mediums to represent the story or a character.

Together for the final way of listening to the story of the Nativity, we watched the following video:

We reflected about what happened in the story and why it is an important story for our lives:

Adum – there was no place for Mary and Joseph to have Baby Jesus be born so God gave them a stable.

Kunal – in the story in the night, Mary had the baby born.

Harper – I learnt that his birthday is when it’s Christmas.

Laura – I learnt how it was really long just to walk to Bethlehem.

Avelyn – The Angel said Mary was going to have a baby called Jesus.

Elnathan – The Angel’s name was Gabriel who told Mary she was going to have a baby.

Bior – Jesus was born in the Christmas story.

Kevin – The Angels showed the shepherds where to find Jesus.

Alexis – The Angel told the shepherds to go the stable.

Tesi – Baby Jesus was born in a farm.

Ellara – Mary had her baby. He was called Jesus.

Noah – Mary didn’t have a home but she just got one.

Laura – Mary was not married, she was about to be married to Joseph.

Owen – Mary was getting a baby called Jesus.

Tina – Joseph was knocking on the door and no one was letting him in.

Emily – He was knocking on the door to find a place to stay.

Eann – Joseph and Mary had to go somewhere else to have baby Jesus.
