Friday (Term 1 | Week 9)

WELCOME TO FRIDAY

HOUSE MEETING
First thing in the morning we met as St Vincent De Paul House with our friends from Reception, Year 2, Year 3 and Years 5 & 6. We listened to a speaker from St Vincent De Paul’s charity, who told us all about the good work that the charity does in South Australia (and beyond).

WRITER’S WORKSHOP

The latest edition of HOLY FAMILY WRITES features books made by some of our class, including: Gurshaan and Jasper, who co-authored an instructional text focused on Minecraft; Mason, who wrote a narrative about a turtle called Max, who has special powers; and Ravleen’s story titled The Magic Robot. Please do take a look:

GEOGRAPHY

We continued exploring some of Australia’s main features putting them into categories: either man-made or natural. Some were easy to spot and name, whilst others were more challenging. We then plotted the locations of some of these landmarks onto a map of Australia.

3JH BUDDY READING

Mrs Handforth spotted a caterpillar on Mason’s back when he was in the library!

Leo finished making The Twits’ House in Minecraft during Independent Learning. Leo said: ‘They had no windows in the house. They had monkeys in the garden and a dead tree. It was a sad, bad house.”

Have an awesome weekend, everyone. We will see you on Monday for the start of Week 10!
