Thursday (Term 1 | Week 9)

Welcome to Thursday, everyone.

MATHEMATICS

We have been continuing with our work in the area of data handling. Earlier in the week we asked questions to generate our own sets of data, and then we progressed on to representing this data in bar graphs with labelled axes and a graph title. Today, we worked on analysing graphs, answering questions about the data represented in them. Here are some examples of data and graphs:

Ryley has been a whizz at data handling; he has worked with independence and dedication. He is feeling very proud of himself. Well done, Ryley!

Congratulations to our Year 3 students for completing the nationally coordinated NAPLAN Omnibus Practice Test yesterday. They joined thousands of Year 3,5, 7 and 9 students across Australia, helping to see if the online platform worked and having a go at logging into the site. Mrs Stam and Mrs Handforth were very proud of all the students who participated. Well done, one and all.

Normal blog service will resume tomorrow. We have had a very hectic fortnight with class mass, Harmony Day Assembly and NAPLAN Online Practice test.
