Reception Focus: Letter formation, recognition and sound
Activities:
- Identifying and cutting out letters from magazines
- Roll the dice and write the letter
- Identifying initial sounds and sorting words
Year 1: Adding ‘ing’ to words, Finding words in the dictionary and building sentences using focus words beginning with focus sounds.
Activities:
- Finding the words and adding ‘ing’
- Finding words in the dictionary that start with ‘t’ – ‘m’ – ‘d’ and ‘c’
- Sound/word game

During Play Investigations the children enjoyed exploring their ideas, thinking and understandings through the languages of

After watching the story we read the story from the Children’s Bible and then we reflected upon its meaning.

The disciples felt scared – what are things that scare us?

Annabelle: A flood
Hendrix: When I hear at noise
Noah: A storm and thunder.
Bior: I am scared in a storm at night time when I am sleeping.
Tina:Scary animals
Zara: Spider
When we are afraid who helps us:
Harper: God will always be there.
Hendrix:Tell you parents that you are scared and then they can help you solve the problem.
Elnathan: My parent and God because they help me.
The children then reflected upon their understandings using words and pictures.
