Fun Friday in R MR and R PN

Welcome to a fun Friday.

What a wonderful first week we have had. Mr Norris and Mrs Rodgers are very excited about our year of learning together.

The children did a fantastic job at our first assembly of the year, which was lead by the leaders of the school – we were very proud.

Our blog today is about the Power of Play.

Play is the highest form of research! | Childcare quotes, Preschool quotes, Kindergarten quotes

During play investigations the children explore areas of interest and wonder.

During this time they are building upon the important learning disposition necessary for life long learning.

These include:

  • Negotiate space and resources
  • Collaborate with others to achieve a shared goal.
  • Work as a team as they share and take turns
  • Use their imagination to create
  • Problem solving
  • Take a risk and try something new
  • Communicate  – express ideas, have conversations, role play.
  • Perseverance  to reach their goal
  • Independence to organise their play

We celebrated Max and Harper’s birthdays today. Max and Harper celebrated their birthdays in the holidays. We hope they had lots of fun turn 5 and 6 years old.

Next Friday the children will get their black bags and we will go to the library and borrow reading book for home.

Have a wonderful weekend – see you Monday.

Thursday -Week 1

Welcome to Thursday

Literacy Morning

Come Read with Me

This is a wonderful way to start our day – sharing books and conversation with our friends. During this time we are connecting through written and oral language. We will start our days like this from Monday – Thursday and then Friday we have assembly.

How do you do this? What do we need?

Matilda: Some stuff to draw with.

Joel: We need paper

Rozy: Stick them together
Ellen: We write words,.

Clara: You have to colour in.

Kunal: staple it
