Snapshot of Learning- Health: Today in health, we read the story, Jasmine’s Butterflies. It is a story about a girl, who gets lost at the zoo. Here are some reflections from the students:

How did she know that she was unsafe?

Rozy- Because she was walking around by herself.

Avelyn- Because no one was around her.

Esrom- No one was protecting her.

Kayden- She was sitting by herself.

Malika- Because no one was making sure she was alright.

Xavier- The butterflies were in Jasmine’s tummy.

Reid- She was feeling sad.

Avelyn- She was feeling worried.

Ryder- She was frustrated.

Rozy- She was feeling a little bit scared.

Mason H- She was frightened.

What did she do to find help?

Jaxson- She tried to find the teacher.

Avelyn- She tried to find help but the animals were too busy to help her.

Wednesday, Term 4, Week 3

Snapshot of Learning: Today in science, we continued talking about the way different things can move. We focused on objects that can move in a spinning motion. We have now spoken about objects that can move by rolling, bouncing, sliding and spinning. Today, each student created their own page for a class book about things that can spin.

Word Study- Today, we looked at the sound  qu and spoke about how the q and the u always go together. The students came up with many words that contain the qu sound. After practising writing some of these words, the students created their own sentences using words with the qu sound.

RPN Assembly-

RPN Assembly, Thursday 28th of October

 

This week, RPN have been busy practising for our buddy assembly with 3JH. It is based on the book, ‘The Magic Hat’ by Mem Fox. We will be performing the assembly on Thursday, the 28th of October, at 2pm in the Hall, for parents and families to come and watch. Please be mindful to be COVID safe, if you are attending. Hope to see you there! 🙂

Religion- After talking about rules at school and in society last week, we discussed the rules that Jesus mentioned in the Gospel, as to how we should live our lives. The first rule was about loving God with your heart, soul and mind. The second rule was about loving your neighbour as you should love yourself or treating people how you like to be treated. The students came up with some learning to do with Jesus’ second rule.

Numeracy- The students had a problem solving task to complete. They needed to write their name and their friends’ names, and find out how many letters make up all the names, together.

Word Study- Today, we reinforced learning to do with the letter v and what sound it makes. The class came up with an extensive list of words that begin with the v sound. After practising writing the letter v, and some words beginning with the letter v, students created their own sentences. The students are using their creativity to create their own sentences and sounding out the words they wish to spell.
