Advent
The Advent wreath is an important symbol of the Advent season. It is usually made of evergreen branches placed in a circle, topped with four candles.
We use the Advent wreath as a way to prayerfully reflect on the Advent seasons. On the first Sunday of Advent, the wreath is belled and one candle is lit. Every Sunday, another candle is lit until all four candles are burning brightly. The colour purple represents waiting, hoping and longing for the arrival of Christ.
The colour pink reminds us that the time of Christ’s arrival is fast approaching and we must prepare.
Students create their own advent wreath.
Have a lovely evening – see you tomorrow
